WoW is a WASTE of time.
For those of you who don’t know what World of Warcraft is just imagine every nerds fantasy: Swords, magic, quests, guilds, alignments, and naked dancing elves. No doubt most people have heard about it, since all the kids in my tech academy seem to talk about it non-stop, but I’m here to say that wasting your time on WoW is RIDICULOUS. Let me re-phrase that, wasting EXCESSIVE amounts of time on WoW is ridiculous. Take, for example, one of my best friends Adam Keener. That kid spent so much time on his computer playing WoW (He got a girlfriend (Thank God, FINALLY!) so he’s not on as much as he used to be…) that it cut into his, eating, sleeping, and social time! I called him once and said, “Hey dude, I don’t have anything going on today do you wanna hang out?” You know what he said? “Sorry dude, I have to get my paladin to level 40 by Thursday or I can’t join the Raid!” I almost punched him in the face through the phone! We hardly got to hang as it was because his mom didn’t approve of me having a tattoo, so he wants to spend the time that we actually COULD hang, on his retard blood-elf.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying don’t play it, although i played it before and hated it, I’m just saying there’s no need to let it consume your life. We get to be teenagers one time in our lives, and you wanna spend 30-40 hours a week at a computer?! It’s a waste, when you could be out jumping the trustles, or hanging out with friends. Going to concerts, or learning an instrument. ANYTHING!!! I play video games too, I was at my friend Daniel’s house til six in the morning playing Gears of War (btw I’m PSYCHED for Gears 2!), but I don’t play everyday and it was a game where you could actually chill with friends, and raiding with your friends doesn’t count!
So before you lose your life in WoW, just remember there are plenty of better things you could get caught in, LIKE LIVING!!!!
I have to say, you have some of the best opinions I’ve heard in a long time, or they might just be up there on the top in general, not just in awhile. I love reading your blogs, I end up catching myself saying, “holy shit, this kid is in my head,” haha.
I absolutely despise people who waste life away. There is nothing more wasted in this world, than life. There’s so much to live for, even if you’re a freakin geek, you don’t need to isolate yourself with a damn video game, or myspace, or anything like that.
I don’t think people realize how much there really is to do and live for. They have it so stuck in their head how they think they should be and they never give anything else a chance.

jk but seriously i’m glad you see it the same way although there are some ppl who would consider wow a good way to live their lives and unless their goal for when they grow up is to be a gm (game master, basically the babysitters of the game) for wow then i just find that sad. there are so many better things that could be done, take for example you. you’re a cheerleader and i think that’s awesome because it’s something very positive and stimulating. i like to go running and exercising myself, i’d rather go out and do something with my life than sit at the computer and raid doomhammer (if that’s a place ppl raid, i wouldn’t know haha. ) . btw i did this on my phone so sorry for the bad composition.
Why are you attacking WoW alone, and not all online games. Just because it consumed your friends life and how he lives doesn’t make the game a waste of time. You said yourself you stayed up playing Gears of War all night, is that not a waste of time??.
The fact that it consumed my friends life really isn’t why i wrote it. The fact that basically everyone who plays it gets ass-deep obsessed with it is why i wrote it. I wouldn’t have a problem at all with it if people could play every now and then and still be productive, of course there are exceptions like my frind chris, he works at McDonald’s, but right when he gets home BAM! time to pvp with my mage. it’s ridiculous to me.
and the gears of war was a one time thing and i was with a bunch of friends not sitting in a room by myself. so no, not a waste of time. videogames can be really fun, i know this, but when u let games consume your life it’s sad.
Yea, totally agree with ya bro. It doesnt make sense to me the fact that one single, repetive game could become such an addictive, worthless corner pocket in the American Teenager’s schedule. It’s not really worth it. I would imagine a game like Second Life, where you can get paid to play, would become something else.. but this.. This is freakin sad.

but c’mon! WoW is cool. Thats the only game i play but i dont remember myself saying ” sorry i got to go level my mage or else i wont be able to join the raids ” LOL now thats is ridiculous!

WoW is stupid,i agree with my bestest buddy jason! if u spend all damn day sitting at home playing it ur proabably a huge fag!!! you might as well forget ever having a girlfriend. the only physical interaction youll get is with your hand. ya i know all about ur gettin married on WoW. ur all dumb, get a life.
